The Dental Admission Test, or DAT, is an admissions exam accepted by all dental schools in the United States and some in Canada.

Composition

The DAT lasts for about 5 hours and 15 minutes. It is composed of multiple-choice questions divided into four sections.

The reading comprehension section contains three passages which focus on various scientific topics. Prior knowlege of these topics is not required. The passages only require the ability to read, comprehend, and analyze basic scientific information thoroughly.

Quantitative Reasoning

The quantitative reasoning section consists of algebra, data analysis, interpretation/sufficiency, quantitative comparison, and probabilistic statistics. It also includes applied mathematics word problems.
