Camila is a recent graduate of Yale University, where she earned a double Bachelor of Arts degree majoring in Chemistry and History, graduating with distinction in History. Her interdisciplinary education allowed her to pursue two very different but complementary interests and educational pursuits: scientific inquiry and the study of people's stories. Her senior research in History examined Black leadership and institution-building in the early American republic and received the Berkeley College Ketcham Prize for Best Senior Essay in American History.
Throughout college, Camila developed a particular interest in the intersection of law, public service, and advocacy. She also explored her interests in policy, public service, and storytelling through campaign work and her involvement in student organizations at Yale. Alongside her work in History, Camila remained deeply engaged in scientific research. As an undergraduate, she conducted chemistry research focused on transition-metal systems and sustainable catalysis. Her background across the sciences and humanities has allowed her to approach her work with curiosity and consider problems from different perspectives.
Outside of work, Camila can usually be found experimenting with something in the kitchen, reading, or wandering around with a camera. She enjoys finding new places to eat, getting lost in a good book, and saying yes to just about any spontaneous adventure that comes her way. A native Spanish speaker, she values staying connected to her community, spending time with the people she loves, and always finding something new to be curious about.
